Something beyond words compelled me to try out Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime. With its simple design, off-beat characters, and the question of “what the heck is frogtime” needing to be answered, I...

Every so often, a game comes along that not only surprises me but becomes one of my favorite games of all time. It’s rare - especially as of late - that it happens, but when it does? I can’t help...

Remember Catlateral Damage? The game where you play as a psychotic cat destroying everything on site? Ever wanted the same type of game but, instead of a cat, you’d play as a dog or a bird? That’s...

The tagline of “cozy farming adventure on the high seas with an adorable animal companion” is enough to get me very intrigued by a game, and developer VoodooDuck had to know they had a great idea...

The 80’s was an era of some incredible memories. We had the birth of many amazing horror films, we saw the rise of heavy metal, and video games really started to take off. As a child of the 90’s, I...

Bubsy. If there is any name that brings dread and hatred to gamers, it’s Bubsy. In the entire history of gaming, I don’t think there’s any series that has as much undeserved hatred as the Bubsy...

AVGN I-II Deluxe Review
Write a comment

It’s no secret that many of us, myself included, grew up watching The Angry Video Game Nerd on YouTube. Created by James Rolfe and Mike Matei, the series is still going strong and still has fans excited for the future, even though I will personally admit that his recent episodes weren’t the best. So, like all long-running franchises, you know there’ll be merchandise and, today, I want to focus on the video games, in particular ‘The Angry Video Game Nerd I-II Deluxe’, which combines both ‘The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures’ and ‘The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures 2: ASSimilation’ into one package, along with a third game ‘The Angry Video Game Nerd in Tower Of Torment: The Final Chapter’. Is this package worth your money or should you spend your money elsewhere (Couldn’t think of a good AVGN quote, sorry!)

Turok 3: Shadows Of Oblivion Review

I have a little bit of a special history with the Turok games as the first two were some of the earliest games I reviewed when I used to work at an online radio station called The Cove Radio. I knew there was a third game from old Nintendo Power articles but, at the time, there was no way to play the game outside of buying a used copy for the N64 or emulating it. However, thanks to the wizards at NightDive Studios, the game has been fully remastered and is available on all next-gen consoles and, for the first time, PC. Was it worth the wait? Well, outside of a few issues I have, this is honestly my favorite of the trilogy*.

With the success of Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy, Activision is taking us back to the tracks with the long-awaited remastering of Crash Team Racing with Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled and this is easily, without a doubt, one of the best kart racers.

Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster Review

I love Star Wars. I loved the movies, including Last Jedi, the shows, and, especially, the games. I remember all the times I spent playing the original Star Wars on NES, flying X-Wings in Rogue Squadron, being scared out of my wits in Shadows Of The Empire (No joke, the wampas in that game scared me as a youngling) and, the subject of today’s review, fighting Dark Troopers in Star Wars: Dark Forces. The very first Star Wars FPS, the game has now been remastered by the amazing team at NightDive Studios and, once again, it’s another excellent remastering.

Rise Of The Triad: Ludicrous Edition (Xbox) Review by DJ MetalWolf

Originally conceived as a follow-up to Wolfenstein 3D entitled ‘Wolfenstein 3D Part 2: Rise Of The Triad’, Rise Of The Triad was originally released in 1995 by legendary developers Apogee Entertainment and became a cult classic amongst gamers and FPS fans. Now, Nightdive Studios and New Blood Interactive, the later being the minds behind the FPS hits ‘Dusk’ and ‘Amid Evil’, have teamed up with Apogee to remaster the game and bring us Rise Of The Triad: Ludicrous Edition, along with bringing it to consoles for the first time. Does this game live up to its boast of ‘Really Cool Explosions’ or should it have stayed a cult hit? Let’s get psyched and find out!
