This is the story of a woman who started a Kickstarter in order to fund her video project to dissect ad analyze female characters in games. Some of the gaming community responded by giving her the funds. More importantly, others decided it would be best to tell her to get back in the kitchen and try to defund her project.

Why do you guys think of this? Personally, this kind of behavior sickens me. Regardless of what you think of her videos (even I agree that some of the points she makes can seem rather far-fetched) no one should have this much bile launched at them. The people who go against her like this are basically proving her point that sexism is still a problem in gaming.

I feel that well, her videos are her jumping the gun, the shit she gets is just people not knowing how to sit back and accept other's opinions. She has a well structured opinion, it's not like she's coming in here and throwing out conspiracy theories, she just goes a little crazy, you get what I mean?
My only recommendation for her would be to tone her shit down, and then she'd have a well structured series, that can actually teach the viewer and actually breed a discussion not focused on going "OMG, SHUT UP!"

I would agree with that. Really, her videos do seem to be a bit far-reaching at times when they really have no business being that.

It could be because she genuinely thinks that way, or she thinks it will get her more publicity. I don't know her, so I can't say.

Even if she's doing it for publicity, I don't think that she deserves all the hate that has been thrust upon her.

No, not at all. She deserves people saying "You need to calm down." But not hatred.
Makes the people who are hating on her look really petty.

It also kind of vindicates her point of "games and gamer culture is sexist" in a sense.
